Beauty’s Timepiece For Bugatti On Display At The Mulhouse Automobile Museum
From June 19th to November 3rd, 2019, an extraordinary work from the Breguet Museum was specially exhibited at the Citédel’Automobile Museum. 2019 coincides with the 110th anniversary of Bugatti’s founding, and its INCUBARABLESBUGATTI (unrivaled Bugatti) exhibition presents many special objects, rare car models and precious historical archives.
Ettore Bugatti is a large customer of Breguet and an avid watchmaker. In the early 1930s, he hoped to equip the powerful ‘Royale’ sports car with a chronograph to meet car customers’ unremitting pursuit of aesthetics. He designed a fixture in the center of the steering wheel and commissioned Breguet to make a chronograph. In 1932, Breguet launched a special timepiece series, including 9 models.

In addition, the Breguet n ° 2023 dashboard chronograph has a minute totalizer window at 6 o’clock. It is equipped with a mechanical movement with an 8-day power reserve, which can be wound by a crown at 6 o’clock.
This outstanding work has been in the collection of the Breguet Museum since 2016.
