Vintage 1945 70th Anniversary of the Three Golden Bridge Tourbillon Watch-GP Girard Perregaux once again interprets the Art Deco line elements of its classic series and launches 2 limited edition series to take the original watch This model pays tribute to the watch factory with 224 years of superb watchmaking history.
Origin-the perfect combination of aesthetic innovation and superb watchmaking technology, the soul of decorative arts
Similar to the Three Golden Bridge Tourbillon, the birth of the Vintage 1945 series benefits from the long history of GP Girard-Perregaux watches. This dates back to 1945, a year that we have inscribed in our hearts. At the time, the design concept of the watch was mainly influenced by the Art Deco movement, drawing inspiration from architectural design, interior design, fashion, painting, and photography, and guided by basic principles such as simplicity, geometry, and structural consistency.
The right angle is poetic, and the shape is more low-key and perfect. Inspired by this creative big bang, Girard-Perregaux’s design in 1945 interprets these principles: simple structure, square case, convex ears, geometric symmetrical design, curved edge design, and crown interspersed among them. The materials used-gold and stainless steel-are also very characteristic of the Art Deco period.
Just 50 years later, in 1995, the prototype of this watch appeared again in the GP Girard Perregaux Museum’s many watch series. This is the prototype of the ‘Vintage 1945’ series. However, it is worth mentioning that this new model is not a refined copy of the original, but has been redesigned from the inside to the outside, full of modernity and seamlessly in line with the trend of the times: waterproof case design, scratch-resistant sapphire instead The original fragile synthetic crystal, the recessed dial is replaced by a spherical mechanical dial, and the specially designed curved hands cover the case. However, its ordinary shape continues the simplicity of the original model: the square design, supplemented by a round die engraved decorative pattern, the lugs are elongated, the case curvature perfectly matches the wrist, and the crown design is exquisite.
Similar to the Three Golden Bridge Tourbillon, the Vintage 1945 watch has been continuously improved since its introduction. In fact, they soon met on their growing path …
Like the original 1945, the original model of the modern series was equipped with a manual winding movement, GP 101. There are also many variations in the mix of its materials. Rose gold or gold is paired with stainless steel, and the dial design has undergone many changes. Since 1996, the GP 101 manual winding movement has been replaced by the GP 3000 series automatic winding movement, which can be flexibly changed according to the wearer’s personal preferences, providing a platform and full use of the vintage 1945 watch for multiple functions. Power is still being used today. The women’s watch and metal strap were launched in the same year.
In 1999, the overall success of the innovation breakthrough was ushered in: the glorious launch of the automatic chronograph. The exquisite and compact GP 30C0 movement is equipped with column wheels, allowing Girard-Perregaux to provide the first adjustable chronograph watch with adjustable size. By adjusting the size, the watch can be worn by anyone’s wrist, including women. Several styles were introduced, including gold or stainless steel. A special collection was also launched dedicated to the GP Girard Perregaux Museum Villa Marguerite.
One side is a watch case with all symmetrical figures; the other side is a movement with all symmetrical figures … why not merge into one? The idea of fusion first appeared in early 2000 and was implemented in 2004: the birth of the Vintage 1945 three-gold bridge tourbillon watch, drawing on all the brand’s superb technology and rich experience in art and craftsmanship, under any circumstances It can display its infinite charm and high recognition, and there is no need to interpret the brand logo engraved under the crystal. In this regard, Girard-Perregaux not only makes this watch shine in the field of fine watchmaking, but also introduces innovative designs in chronograph and perpetual calendar, perpetual calendar and time difference, or double-second chronograph and skip seconds.
In 2006, Girard-Perregaux introduced the most amazing style in recent years: the Vintage 1945 Slot Tourbillon Jackpot Tourbillon. In addition to its impressive size, the watch’s tourbillon is mostly exposed, because its movement is equipped with a ‘slot machine’ function device-the famous ‘slot machine’ invented by Charles Fey in 1895 . Like the original model, this watch’s joystick is located on the side of the case and can be rotated to push the barrel. When you pause at random, you will hear a pleasant clink. At first glance, at the same time extending a long history to the future, with strong 18th and 19th century colors, it is also from that period, watch design gradually used to please users.
Several native La Chaux-de-Fonds are world-renowned, including Charles-Edouard Jeanneret and Le Corbusier, the latter of which is one of the most prominent figures in modern architectural design. In 2012, to celebrate the 125th anniversary of Le Corbusier, GP Girard-Perregaux launched a special series of the Vintage 1945 trilogy, which respectively symbolized the three cities where Corbusier had worked: La Chaux-de-Fonds, Paris and Marseille. Made from selected materials that Corbusier loves, including steel, carved metal, mother-of-pearl, leather, and concrete, only five pieces are released per collection.
On the occasion of the 70th anniversary, we have selectively introduced several milestones in the vast history of this remarkable watch, but the story of this watch is far from over: there are still many projects to be implemented, and it is destined to be full of Surprise … still an inexhaustible source of innovation inspiration.
Vintage 1945 Small Seconds 70th Anniversary Special
In order to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the launch of the Vintage 1945 series, Girard Perregaux has reinterpreted the original model, adding modern elements, and introduced two cases of rose gold and stainless steel. Brand traditional watchmaking process.
Timing mechanism synchronized with time. Girard Perregaux uses gold and stainless steel to reinterpret the classic Vintage 1945 series, which not only continues the classic features of the original model, but also incorporates Art Deco core elements into the material. The elegant square case with large size keeps the characteristics of this series intact. Lines and curves subtly respond to the aesthetic ideas of the early 20th century. Two-way curved design reduces the load-bearing surface of the human wrist and fits perfectly to the wrist. The crown is in the middle position, which better highlights the overall image of the watch. Anniversary limited edition and commemorative logo are engraved on the bottom case, highlighting the Art Deco-inspired watch series, reminiscent of Girard-Perregaux Bridges’ iconic arrow design.
The dial, like the case, has a double curved design, demonstrating the superb craftsmanship required to make this watch. The hour markers are Arabic numerals, the same as the original model, rose gold, and small seconds at 6 o’clock, highlighting the symmetrical and balanced design. The toffee minute and hour hands are hand-carved and exquisitely crafted to complement the dial’s shape.
The self-winding movement made by the factory makes this exquisite aesthetic design richer and more perfect. The movement GP03300-0051 shows the hours and minutes and the small seconds at 6 o’clock. Born in the Girard-Perregaux watch studio, it also follows the brand’s consistent watchmaking tradition, reliable quality and accurate timing. 46 hours power reserve, 4Hz frame rate, which means 28,800 vibrations per hour. It has a diameter of 25.60mm and a thickness of 4.20mm. It consists of 213 parts. Its external decoration combines the traditional Geneva ripples and round grain lines, mainly distributed on the bridge, the main board and the pendulum.
In order to make this commemorative model more perfect, Girard Perregaux specially selected an elegant brown alligator leather strap with a folding buckle.
